Ömer Asaf Makes Quick Start in RMC

The 12-year-old national karting driver Ömer Asaf Kolot was at Belgium's international Genk circuit on 24-25 February for the opening round of the Belgian Rotax Max Challenge, which he will follow this season alongside the Turkish Karting Championship.
Competing against 16 drivers from seven different countries, Kolot made a quick start to the weekend, finishing second and third in the official practice sessions. Qualifying took place very early in the morning with the air temperature at minus 4 degrees, which made conditions difficult for the drivers, while the heats, semi-final and final produced intense battles.
In the opening round of the five-round series, Ömer Asaf made his first start in Mini Max, the class above the one he competed in last season, and left the season-opening round in sixth place. The Belgian Rotax Max Challenge continues with round two at the Mariembourg circuit on 17-18 March.
