Çukurova Wins Turkish Rally Championship Round in Marmaris

Burak Çukurova-Vedat Bostancı, driving a Skoda Fabia R5, won the fifth round of the 2019 Turkish Rally Championship, held on 12-13 September as part of the Rally Turkey, a round of the World Rally Championship.
In the national classification, Bora Manyera-Cem Çerkez from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, who are following the Turkish Rally Championship in a Skoda Fabia R5 this season, took second place, while Murat Bostancı-Onur Vatansever claimed third in a Ford Fiesta R5.
Castrol Ford Team Türkiye's Ümit Can Özdemir-Batuhan Memişyazıcı won Class 4 and the 2WD category, and the Jotun- and Urtim-backed crew also took the win in the Fiesta Rally Cup.
Victory in Class N went to Erkan Güral-Burak Koçoğlu, who competed in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX for GP Garage My Team, while Buğra Can Kılıç-Ali Emre Yılmaz, competing in a Fiat Egea 1.4 T-Jet for the Egea Youth Cup, won Class 3. After this event, the young crew now hold a big advantage in the Turkish Rally Young Drivers Championship and are aiming to complete the season as champions by scoring maximum points at Rally Kocaeli and Yeşil Bursa Rally.
Castrol Ford Team Türkiye's And Sunman was the top young driver of the rally, while the historic rally classification was won by Haydar Güçlü and co-driver Murat Yıldırım, who competed in a 1968 BMW 2002 Ti and are celebrating their 50th year in motorsport.
The sixth round of the 2019 Turkish Rally Championship, the Ford Otosan Rally Kocaeli, will be organised by the Kocaeli Automobile Sports Club on 12-13 October.
