Karting Excitement at Körfez

The season opener of the 2015 Turkish Karting Championship was held by the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) at the Körfez Karting Circuit on 28-29 March. Before the racing got under way, TOSFED President Metin ÇEKER visited the Körfez circuit, presenting gifts to all the competitors and wishing them success ahead of the season opener.

Round 1 was contested over three races: 15 laps for Mini, 20 laps for Formula Junior, and 24 laps for both Formula Senior and Formula Master. In the Mini class, Pars Erdem took the win, with Ömer Asaf Kolot second and Zekai Özen third. In Formula Junior, Mert Dalkıran won, with İzel Karasu second. In Formula Senior, Berkay Besler won all three races to take first place, with Mehmet Dalkıran second and Muratcan Eğilmez third completing the podium. In the Master class, Süleyman Sırrı Kolot took the win and Mehmet Yaman finished second.

The second round of the six-round Turkish Karting Championship will be held at the Izmir Ülkü Race Circuit on 9-10 May 2015.
