Avcı Leads Opening Day in Kocaeli

After three special stages today (Saturday 11 June), Yağız Avcı-Bahadır Gücenmez, competing for Neo Motorspor with Peugeot Sport Türkiye support, finished the opening day of the Ford Otosan Kocaeli Rally, the third round of the 2016 Turkish Rally Championship, in the lead, 20.6s ahead of Orhan Avcıoğlu-Burçin Korkmaz. Castrol Ford Team Türkiye's Murat Bostancı-Onur Vatansever, in a Ford Fiesta R5, are third, 43.8s behind the leader...

The other crews to end the day leading their classes were Uğur Soylu-Emir Şahin in Class N with a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX for Neo Motorspor, Ahmet Burkay-Bilge Ayan in Class 3 with a Citroen DS3 R3T for BC Vision Motorsport, Dağhan Ünlüdoğan-Aras Dinçer in Class 4 with a Peugeot 208 R2 for BC Vision Motorsport, and Emrah Ali Başo-Gürkal Menderes in Class 5 with a Ford Fiesta R1.

In the Historic Rally classification, Engin Kap-Özden Yılmaz of Bonus Unifree Parkur Racing finished the day in front, while Uygar Birgili-Hüseyin Teloğlu in a Peugeot 106 GTI led the Yusuf Aramacı Rally Cup.

The second day of the rally starts at 09:00 on Sunday 12 June from the Wellborn Hotel and, after five stages, finishes at 16:45 in front of 41 Burda AVM.
