Sixty Cars Set for Season Finale in Kocaeli

The curtain comes down on the 2017 Turkish Rally Championship on 11-12 November with the Ford Otosan 35th Kocaeli Rally. With 60 cars and 120 competitors entered – 21 national, 8 historic and 31 in the Renç Koçibey Cup – the crews will cover 289.96 km over two days, 96.30 km of it on special stages.
The final round of the Turkish Rally Championship, which began with the Aegean Rally in April and comprises seven events, will be organised by the Kocaeli Automobile Sports Club, known as KOSDER, with Ford Otosan as title sponsor and with the support of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, İzmit Municipality, 41 Burda AVM, Ramada Plaza İzmit, Shell, AVIS, Setur and RedBull.com.In addition to the Turkish Rally Championship, the rally will award points in the Turkish Historic Rally Championship, open to classic rally cars over 35 years old, and the Renç Koçibey Rally Cup for amateur drivers. It is also the final round of the Fiesta Rally Cup, which is open to Ford Fiesta rally cars.
The rally begins on Saturday 11 November with a shakedown between 08.00 and 10.00, before the start at 12.00 from 41 Burda Shopping Centre. The crews will tackle the Otosan (19.00 km), Transit (12.48 km) and Courier (11.18 km) stages – the latter used for the first time this year – before completing the first day with the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality spectator stage at the Perşembe Pazarı at 16.00.
The second day begins at 09.30 on Sunday 12 November from the parc fermé in front of the Ramada Plaza İzmit, which also serves as rally headquarters. After the Otosan, Transit and Courier stages, crews will tackle the 9.13 km RedBull.com Power Stage, where the three fastest crews in the overall classification and in each class will earn extra points. The Ford Otosan 35th Kocaeli Rally will conclude with the prize-giving ceremony on the finish podium at 41 Burda Shopping Centre at 15.00.
