İbrahim Wins Final, Mert Takes the Title

The third and final round of the Apex Masters 2017 Turkish Drift Championship, run with PWR Balata as title sponsor and with the support of RedBull.com and Motul, was held on 14-15 October at the TOSFED Körfez circuit. The event featured 19 entries, including competitors from Ukraine, Iran and the TRNC, and was watched by around 2,000 ticket-holding spectators.
Qualifying, postponed to Sunday because of bad weather on Saturday, was topped by the TRNC's İbrahim Yücebaş in a Nissan 200 SX with 92 points. Ukrainian Red Bull driver Aleksandr Grinchuk was second in a Nissan 350 Z, while Iran's Fahim Reza took third in a BMW M6 Turbo.
After qualifying on Sunday, the meet-and-greet with the drivers and the paddock visit drew the usual big crowd, and spectators then watched the smoky head-to-head battles with great excitement. Lucky spectators selected during the day got to experience the thrill of drifting in the passenger seats of professional drivers such as Abbas Çimen, Ertuğrul Makina and Doğukan Manço.
In the final pairing between İbrahim Yücebaş and Mert Bilaloğlu in a BMW E36 325, it was İbrahim Yücebaş who lifted the winner's trophy. Third place in the season finale went to Aleksandr Grinchuk, after his opponent Volkan Arısoy's car suffered a mechanical failure.
Having scored the highest points total across the three rounds of the 2017 season, Mert Bilaloğlu, competing for DM Works D'Team, became the Apex Masters Turkish Drift Champion.
