İSOFF Challenge Heads to Büyükçekmece

The 2018 season of the İSOFF Challenge, organised by the İstanbul Off-road Club, gets under way on Sunday 10 June on a new track built behind TÜYAP in Büyükçekmece.

The 3.6km track, created with the support of Büyükçekmece Municipality, combines fast sections with off-road obstacle crossings, promising spectators an entertaining off-road racing show.

With 24 crews entered, the competitors will battle through the laps, based on stage times, to work their way up to the final. After qualifying, the event will begin with a mass start and consist of three elimination rounds. After the first heats, which run for 12 laps, the 16 crews with the best times will earn a place in the semi-final. At the end of the 10-lap semi-final, the eight fastest crews will advance to the final. The first crew to see the chequered flag in the eight-lap final will lift the day's winner's trophy.

Last year's trophy was won by Murat Tiryakioğlu-Mert Tiryakioğlu in a Suzuki Grand Vitara; this year's winner will be decided after three rounds. The second round of the series will be held on 23 September, and the third round on 11 November…
