Emrah Ali Başo Conquers Hittite Rally

Round four of the Ali Sipahi Rally Cup, organised by TOSFED, the Hitit Rally was run in Çorum on 29-30 September by the Ankara Automobile Sports Club (ANOK), with the support of Çorum Municipality and Golonya as title sponsor.

Held on the Ahmediye and Gemed stages in the Çorum Dam area, the rally attracted 20 crews from different provinces, who battled for the best result over a route of 157 kilometres in total, including 71 kilometres of special stages.

After a hard-fought rally, overall victory went to Emrah Ali Başo-Gürkal Menderes, who competed in a Ford Fiesta R1 for Ford Motorsport Turkey, sponsored by ÜÇGE and supported by turkmotorspor.com. İlhan Mutluay-Cumhur Önder, who travelled from Istanbul in a Citroen C2, finished second, while Ankara's Yavuzhan Cabbaroğlu-Enez Al took third in a Subaru Impreza WRX. Özcan Öz-İlker Çaçen won Category 1, with İlhan Mutluay-Cumhur Önder taking Category 2, Yavuzhan Cabbaroğlu-Enez Al Category 3 and Emrah Ali Başo-Gürkal Menderes Category 4.
The prizes for the top finishers were presented at a ceremony on the finish podium by Çorum Mayor Zeki Gül and ANOK President Mesut Sami Bıyık. In a speech at the ceremony, Mayor Gül noted that Çorum has hosted the Hitit Rally for four years, congratulated the leading crews and announced that Çorum Municipality plans to continue the event in the years ahead.
