Most of us grew up around cars whether we wanted to or not, quietly comforting ourselves with dreams of "just let me get my driving licence". Every move our fathers made at the wheel was etched into our minds, and we counted the days until it would be our turn behind it...

And when fathers are involved in motorsport, with every second conversation at home turning back to cars and rallying, it is unthinkable that those children would remain indifferent to the sport...
The sons of many fathers who have given years to motorsport in our country are now proudly carrying the family name forward as a second generation in the sport. In rallying in particular, Nejat Avcı's son Yağız Avcı, Rıza Çukurova's son Burak Çukurova and Azmi Avcıoğlu's son Orhan Avcıoğlu, all of whom are currently in the championship top five, are perhaps the best proof of this...
The partnership of Mert Gür and Ege Can Ünlü, sons of two men who spent years in the co-driver's seat, Macit Gür and Can Ünlü, in the same car came together at Aegean Rally. Starting this season with the Aegean Rally in Izmir and continuing with Rally Troia in Çanakkale, the pairing then tackled its first gravel experience at the Yeşil Bursa Rally on 22-23 July. In motorsport, where every kilometre covered is valuable experience, the Gür-Ünlü crew, drawing on the inspiration and advice of their fathers, have come a long way in a short time. In Bursa, in the Renç Koçibey Rally Cup class, they set the fastest time on the redbull.com power stage to finish third overall and second in Category 1.
