Ford's New Youngsters Hasbay and Kaya

Emre Hasbay and Mert Kaya, selected by Castrol Ford Team Türkiye following trials among young drivers, have earned the right to compete for the team in the 2019 Turkish Rally Championship.

Born in 1995, Emre Hasbay began his career in 2015 with the V2 Challenge and the Turkish Historic Rally Championship before continuing in karting. In 2016, Hasbay followed the Turkish Rally Championship in a Ford Fiesta ST, and in 2017 he competed in the Turkish Rally Championship in a Ford Fiesta R2T. After a short break from motorsport in 2018, Hasbay will return at the 29th Aegean Rally in a Ford Fiesta R2T, with Emir Şahin as co-driver.
Born in 1996, Mert Kaya began his motorsport career in 2017 with the TOSFED Looking for a Star project. After earning his place by coming through the selection rounds among 320 candidates, he finished the series third after four races. As a reward for this result, the young driver won the right to compete in the 2018 Turkish Rally Championship in a Fiat Egea 1.4 T-Jet, and he quickly developed, attracting attention with his stage times.
Starting with the 29th Aegean Rally, to be held in Seferihisar, İzmir on 13-14 April, the two young drivers will alternate in contesting the 2019 Turkish Rally Championship junior and 2WD titles. We wish them every success...
