Karamanoğlu Makes His Mark on Fiesta Rally Cup

In the Fiesta Rally Cup, the two-wheel-drive Ford Fiesta series run as part of the Turkish Rally Championship, the order at the season-opening Obel Cıvata 29th Aegean Rally was only settled on the final stage. After a consistent performance throughout the rally, the crew of Kağan Karamanoğlu-Nehir Yılmaz took the Fiesta Rally Cup overall win and the Class R2T victory.
Despite their misfortune on the first day, Ümit Can Özdemir-Batuhan Memişyazıcı claimed second in the Cup overall and in R2T with a strong performance on Sunday, while Üstün Üstünkaya-Gürkal Menderes took third.
The Fiesta Rally Cup Class R2 win went to Bursa-based Uğur Çelikyay-Yusuf Çelik, competing with the support of Uludağ Frutti, while Özcan Söke-Barkın Şahin won Class ST.At the Aegean Rally, the season opener, Emre Hasbay – Emir Şahin, who are contesting the Turkish Rally Young Drivers Championship in a two-wheel-drive Fiesta R2T with a 1.0L EcoBoost engine and "Drive to the Future" livery, had led going into the final stage, but unluckily retired on it.
The Fiesta Rally Cup season continues with ESOK Rally, a round of the 2019 FIA European Rally Cup, which will be held in Eskişehir on 14-16 June.
