Bostancı Leads Opening Day in Eskişehir

The opening day of the International ESOK Rally, a round of the 2019 European Rally Trophy, consisting of four stages, ended with Murat Bostancı-Onur Vatansever in the lead, driving a Ford Fiesta R5 for Castrol Ford Team Türkiye.
Eskişehir Otomobil Sporları Kulübü organised the rally with 59 cars and 118 competitors taking part. At the end of the first day, second place went to the last two years' Turkish Rally Champion Burak Çukurova-Vedat Bostancı of the BC Vision Motorsport team, while third went to Deniz Fahri-Bahadır Gücenmez, from the same team. Competing from Bulgaria, Yordan Atasanov-Yanaki Yanakiev led the ERT2 class in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, while Ümit Can Özdemir-Batuhan Memişyazıcı of Castrol Ford Team Türkiye completed the day as ERT3 leaders in a Ford Fiesta R2T.
The rally is also the third round of the Turkish Rally Championship. For the second day, the crews will get back behind the wheel at 10:00 on Saturday 15 June, tackling the Nejat Banaz stage at Kozkayı and the Zafer Vatansever stage at Sakarılıca twice each, before battling to reach the finish podium at Espark AVM from 16:30.
