Ertarman Climbs to Victory
The Bursa Gemlik Şahintepe course hosted round five of the Turkish Hill Climb Championship on 24-25 August, for the first time in 16 years. Organised by the Bursa Automobile Sports Club with the support of Gemlik Municipality, the event drew record numbers of both spectators and competitors.
Held on the 7.20 km course and watched with great interest by thousands of people, the event saw competitors take on the demanding hill and each other over three runs. Of the 33 competitors who started across four separate categories, Bursa-based Hakan Ertarman competed in Category 2 with a Renault Clio Ragnotti.
Ertarman took victory with a total time of 14:12.91, 23 seconds clear of the nearest rival, and received the Category 2 winner's trophy from Gemlik Mayor Mehmet Uğur Sertaslan.
