Engin Apaydın Reviews His 2024 Season

2024 AVIS Turkish Hill Climb Championship Category 2 champion and Atış Motorsport driver Engin Apaydın reviewed the season for turkmotorspor.com readers and shared the goals for 2025.

We began the 2024 season at Sakarılıca. With our revised car I adapted to the course easily, and we took our first team win, both individually and as Atış Motorsport.

At Kartepe, where you experience all four seasons, the weather conditions were our biggest rival. Although I had visibility problems on the runs made in fog in particular, I finished the event in first place.

At Buharkent I struggled because I had to slow down on the first run to avoid hitting a tortoise that appeared in front of me, and because the event was decided over two runs, but I finished at the top. Ayhan Germirli and I had a good battle.

The Kütahya course, where I was competing for the first time, was run on clean asphalt. Although the absence of any bank at any of the corners made me a little uneasy while racing, I finished the event in first place.

Şahintepe, where I could not finish where I wanted in 2023, my first season of racing, because the revision of my car was not ready in time, went flawlessly this year, and I won to mathematically secure the championship title. The only thing that saddened us was Ayhan Germirli's unfortunate accident.

Although I did not take part, the Kınık Hill Climb organised by İMOK was by far the best event in the championship in terms of the value given to competitors and the flow of the event.

In 2025 I will be competing with our new car, a Peugeot 208 Rally4. I am aiming for at least one or two overall wins.
