Drift Season Finale at Körfez

The final round of the 2016 Turkish Drifting Championship, Apex Masters, takes place on Sunday 23 October at the Izmit Körfez Race Track, organised by the Drift Automobile Sports Club and sponsored by PWR Balata.

The drift drivers will practise on Saturday 22 October, before qualifying gets under way at 11:00 on Sunday 28 August, followed by head-to-head battles that will give the motorsport fans filling the circuit hours full of adrenaline.

At an event where spectators will also get the chance to experience drifting from the passenger seat of a race car, 2016 Ukrainian Drift Champion Dmitriy Illyuk will take to the track in Turkey for the first time in his 1,200-horsepower car.

The season finale, in which 25 competitors will fight it out, carries great importance as it will decide the champion driver and team. Going into the race, MTG Motorsport's Timur Pomak leads the championship with 45 points. Kemal Özhaseki of JDM Works D'Team and Oktay Kabaktaş of TeamArt Dream Drift Team follow with 42 points.
