Çanakkale Gears Up for Rally Troia

Rally Troia, organised by the 07Eskişehir Otomobil Sporları Kulübü, is being held in Çanakkale from 30 June to 02 July this year as the third round of the Balkan Rally Cup, part of the European Rally Cup.
Sponsored by the Çanakkale Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and with the support of Çanakkale Municipality, Spor Toto, Red Bull.com, Fora Araç Takip Sistemleri, Autoclub and Power FM, this year's rally will also welcome competitors from Bulgaria, Romania and Georgia in addition to Turkey. The rally, which also counts towards the Turkish Rally Championship and the Bulgarian Rally Championship, covers a route of 489.16 kilometres and comprises 8 special stages with a total length of 154.30 kilometres.
The rally begins with the recce on Thursday 29 June between 08:30 and 18:30, followed by scrutineering on Friday 30 June between 08:00 and 11:00. All competitors will then cross to Gallipoli by ferry between 11:30 and 15:00 to visit the war memorial. Rally Troia 2017 will get under way with a ceremonial start in front of the Trojan Horse Statue on the seafront at 18:30, accompanied by folk performances and concerts.
The crews will begin the first day of the rally at 10:15 on Saturday morning, 01 July, tackling the Paris and Homer stages twice each, before running the spectator super special stage in the city centre, known as Troia Horse, from 17:00.
The final day begins with the service park exit at 11:00 on Sunday 02 July. After the Assos, Apollon and redbull.com stages, the rally will conclude at 15:30 with the finish ceremony and prize-giving on the podium in front of the Trojan Horse Statue.
