Berkay Back on the Podium

Our national karting driver Berkay Besler took second place to claim another podium finish in round three of the BNL International Karting Series, held at the Genk circuit in Belgium on 3-4 September.
The event was run as two rounds on Saturday and Sunday, with a busy weekend programme of qualifying, heats and finals. In Sunday's final, Besler set the fastest lap and, despite dropping to 12th in the chaos after the start, produced a superb recovery drive to take the chequered flag in second place. Besler also finished second in the overall points, making us proud once again.

Berkay summed up the race: "As always, we did this race with the Bouvin Power team and our performance over the weekend was excellent. However, the race tyres we were allocated by draw on Saturday were very inefficient and upset the whole balance of the chassis... Even so, we found alternative solutions and eased the problem... Sunday's final, in a word, was perfect. As a team we were very focused and we were rewarded for it. That's why I'm so happy."
Berkay Besler's next race will be round five of the Belgian Karting Championship, to be held at the Mariembourg circuit on 17-18 September.
