Our national karting driver Berkay Besler has added another success to his international record. Berkay produced a superb performance in Round 6 of the Belgian Max Challenge, one of Europe's toughest karting series. Our young representative won all three finals at the Genk circuit, claiming another big result for our country.

The Central and Eastern European Champion was the sole master of the 1,360-metre Genk circuit over the weekend. Competing in the Senior Max class, Berkay set the fastest times in practice with a 54.878 and in qualifying with a 54.799. In Final 1, which featured 29 quick drivers from different countries, the competition was breathtaking, but it was our national driver Berkay Besler who took the chequered flag first after the 16-lap race, also setting the fastest lap with a 55.204. Sweden's Jessica Backman and Belgium's Vincent Jewell followed him home. Final 2 was another thrilling affair, but the podium battle was once again fought out between the same three drivers. With a time of 14:51.829, Berkay Besler took the win. Jessica Backman finished second and Vincent Jewell third. The spectators seemed to be predicting the result of the third and final race, but the competition was even tighter than in the first two finals. In a race in which Berkay Besler again set the fastest lap, with a 55.158, he briefly dropped behind Jessica Backman, but our driver combined masterful racecraft with composure and, with a superb move on the final lap, took the lead back, winning the last final ahead of Backman with a time of 14:53.308. Vincent Jewell again finished third.

With his three final wins, our national driver collected 165 points and secured a major result in Belgium. After the race, Berkay said: "I am very happy that I was able to hear our national anthem played abroad once again."
