Avcıoğlu Ready for 2017 with Fresh Challenge

After finishing the 2016 season as Turkish Rally Championship runner-up, Orhan Avcıoğlu has announced that he has parted ways with the Castrol Ford Team Türkiye squad ahead of the new season.

Avcıoğlu announced this significant change in his career via his social media accounts, saying: "Many thanks to Castrol Ford Team Türkiye for a magnificent seven years. We are now leaving the nest, but we have gathered many memories, formed friendships that will last a lifetime and won successes as a team. We carried the brands we represented with pride and tried to be worthy of them. To all the retired and active friends from the Bostancı, Ford, Castrol, Pirelli and Teknik Motorspor families who touched our lives, thank you so much for giving us this chance and making us feel valued. A new journey and new excitement await us in 2017."

Avcıoğlu is preparing to compete with a new team and a new car in the new season, which begins with the Saygılı Rulman Aegean Rally on 21-23 April... Getting ready to join the fight at the front of the 2017 Turkish Rally Championship in an R5 car, Avcıoğlu will compete for TOK Sport WRT, which provides car rental and service operations for circuit racing and rally series in Europe. Continuing to represent the family name on the stages as a second-generation driver, Orhan will once again have Burçin Korkmaz alongside as co-driver, as has been the case since 2011.

Avcıoğlu's career achievements include the 2012-2013 Turkish Rally Two-Wheel-Drive Championship titles and the 2011-2012-2013 Turkish Rally Class 6 wins, and we wish him every success in the new season...
