Avcıoğlu-Korkmaz on the Podium in Sliven

The crew of Orhan Avcıoğlu-Burçin Korkmaz, competing for Toksport WRT in a Ford Fiesta R5, finished second overall on Rally Sliven, round five of the 2017 Balkan Rally Cup. The Georgian crew of Plamen Staykov - David Kvaratshelia, competing for Bulgaria, took victory, while third place went to Dan Girtofan - Tudor Marza from Romania.
Four Turkish crews took part in the rally, held in Bulgaria on 1-3 September. Adil Küçüksarı-Kerim Tar, driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX for Neo Motorspor, reached the finish third in ERT2, while Eren Burkay-Bora Arabacı, in a Hyundai i20 Coupe for Hyundai Racing, completed their first European experience in third in ERT3... Menderes Okur-Ufuk Uluocak, who contested the ERT2 class in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX for Toksport WRT, failed to reach the finish because of a mechanical failure.
The 2017 Balkan Rally Cup continues with Rally Serbia on 22-24 September and concludes with Rally Marmaris on 20-22 October. The European Rally Cup final will be held in Portugal on 17-18 November.
