Avcıoğlu-Korkmaz Return from Cyprus in Fifth

The Toksport WRT crew of Orhan Avcıoğlu-Burçin Korkmaz, who are following the European Rally Championship in the 2018 season, returned with a strong result from Cyprus Rally, the fourth round of the championship, held in southern Cyprus on 15-17 June. Competing in a Skoda Fabia R5, our drivers completed the demanding rally, which comprised 205 km of stages, 72 per cent gravel and 28 per cent asphalt, in fifth place overall.
After the event, Avcıoğlu said: "We finished Cyprus Rally fifth overall. Over two days we tackled more than 200 km of stages, with temperatures inside the car above 60 degrees, against 15 cars in our class and 62 in total. The first and second days had very different stages and characters. We tried to go fast, avoid punctures and look after the car at the same time. Our target coming into this rally was a top-five finish, and we achieved it. I would like to thank my co-driver Burçin Korkmaz and the Toksport WRT team very much."
