Avcıoğlu-Korkmaz On the Podium in Arad

Toksport WRT's Orhan Avcıoğlu-Burçin Korkmaz crew finished third overall among forty-five cars on Rally Arad in Romania, the second round of the Balkan Rally Cup.
The Turkish crew, driving a Toksport-prepared Ford Fiesta R5 with the support of CSUN, Motul, VP fuels and KolayOto, began the rally with a spectacular start in Arad city square on the evening of Thursday 1 June. After nine stages covering a total of 116km, they reached the finish on the podium on the evening of Saturday 3 June. Another Toksport WRT crew, Menderes Okur-Ufuk Uluocak in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, also managed to finish the rally third in the ERT2 class.After the rally, Orhan Avcıoğlu said: "We are delighted to be on the podium and to fly our flag in only our second international rally. It was a route our rivals knew well, but one full of unknowns for us. Even so, we kept ourselves in the top three throughout the entire rally. On the first day we had a steering box problem and ended the day fifth. On the second day we increased our pace and fought all the way to the final stage to take third. It was a very good opportunity to get used to our car, which we were driving on gravel for the first time, and we picked up very valuable points for the Balkan Rally Cup. We thank Toksport and the whole technical team, who worked so hard all week."
