Avcı Opens Season with Victory

Rally Phrygia, the opening round of both the Balkan Rally Cup and the Turkish Rally Championship, came to an end after the Espark and Midas special stages were each run twice. Organised by the Eskişehir Otomobil Sporları Kulübü (ESOK) with 45 crews taking part, the rally was held in the Eskişehir-Kütahya-Bilecik region.
Red Bull athlete Yağız Avcı-Onur Vatansever of Ford Motorsport Türkiye finished first by 1 minute 13.6 seconds in a demanding rally, in which rain over the final two special stages shook up the order and made life difficult for the crews.
Burak Çukurova-Vedat Bostancı took second for BC Vision Motorsport in a Skoda Fabia R5, while third went to visiting crew Deniz Fahri-Barış Kalfaoğlu from the TRNC, who competed for Ford Motorsport Türkiye in a Ford Fiesta R5 with the support of ROCKS Hotel & Casino.
In the ERT2 class, Jordan Atanasov-Yanaki Yanakiev of Bulgaria won in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, while in ERT3 Ümitcan Özdemir-Batuhan Memişyazıcı, driving a Ford Fiesta R2T for Ford Motorsport Türkiye, took the class win.
In National Class N, Mustafa Çakal-Mehmet Köleoğlu of GP Garage My Team won in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, while in Class 3 Yiğit Timur-Kaan Özşenler came out on top for Fiat Motorsporları in their Fiat Egea 1.4 T-Jet, on its first official event.
