Avcı Ready for the Season with the 208 T16 R5

The 2016 Turkish Rally Championship opens on 16-17 April with the Saygılı Rulman Aegean Rally, organised by the Aegean Automobile Sports Club, abbreviated as EOSK. National drivers Yağız Avcı and Bahadır Gücenmez are preparing to begin the new season in their new car, the Peugeot 208 T16 R5. The rally begins with a ceremonial start in front of Forum Bornova at 13:30 on Saturday 16 April, and around 60 crews will battle it out over two days on the special stages in the Seferihisar region and on the spectator stage at the Izmir Park race track. As in previous years, the service park will be set up in Balçova İnciraltı, and the finish ceremony will take place in front of the Ramada Encore Hotel from 16:30 on Sunday 17 April.

Avcı shared thoughts ahead of the new season: "After a long and intensive period of work, we are very happy to be taking part in the 2016 season with our new car, the Peugeot 208 T16 R5. There are many changes in the championship this season and I think it will be a productive year for our sport. Our target at the season opener, the Aegean Rally, is first of all to get to know the car fully and to make sure we finish the rally. Of course, starting the season with a win would be great too. It's not easy, but as a team we will do everything we can. I wish everyone the best of luck and an easy rally in advance."
