Ali Türkkan's 2024 Season Review

Red Bull driver Ali Türkkan, who competed for Castrol Ford Team Türkiye and fought for the championship title right up to the final rally of the 2024 season, reviewed the year for turkmotorspor.com readers and shared his goals for 2025.

Sarıkamış Rally

Starting the season with Sarıkamış Rally was great. I think it's an event that adds colour to the championship. As it was my first time competing in a snow rally, there were moments where I struggled, but it was a trouble-free and very enjoyable rally.

My favourite stage: SS4-7 Şehitler

Marmaris Aegean Rally

Marmaris Rally greeted us with fantastic stages. Marmaris and its surroundings are one of my favourite regions in Türkiye anyway. Competing on those roads, on stages running alongside the sea, was incredibly enjoyable. We were very quick from start to finish, but we missed out on the win by 2 seconds because of a small mechanical problem.

My favourite stage: SS3-6 Remed Assistance

Rally Bodrum

Bodrum Rally gave us our first win of the season. We held the lead from the start of the rally to the end and won most of the stages that were run. Afterwards I rewarded myself by staying in Bodrum for another 3-5 days 😂

My favourite stage: SS7-10 Duja Hotels

Yeşil Bursa Rally

Bursa Rally was run this season on a special date, 19 May. We won every stage of the rally and took a superb victory on this meaningful day.

My favourite stage: SS6-8 Downtown

ESOK Rally

Eskişehir Rally was an unlucky event for us. We took damage to the front left on the first stage and our rally ended early.

I think it's the first time I haven't liked a single stage of a rally.

Kocaeli Rally

Last year we won Kocaeli Rally by a very large margin. Our aim was to produce a similar performance again. But on the third stage we rolled and lost a significant amount of time. We then straightened the car up and tried to carry on, but the damage from the roll forced us to retire on the fourth stage.

Istanbul Rally

Istanbul Rally was a good way to close the season. Although it wasn't perfect from start to finish, we put in a good
performance and made no mistakes. If we had been a bit braver with our tyre choice on Sunday, we might have won the rally. Even so, we produced a good rally as a crew and finished the final event of the season on the podium.

2025 Goals

My goal for the 2025 season is to win the FIA Junior World Rally Championship title.
