9 Eylül Cup Continues at Menderes

The third round of the 9 Eylül Cup, organised by the Aydın Automobile Sports Club to encourage drivers from the Aegean region, takes place on Sunday 25 October at the Menderes Autocross track in Izmir.
Autocross, which attracts great interest among the motorsport disciplines, could not be held in Izmir because the city had no track. Thanks to work by Menderes Municipality and Ege Asal Motor Spor, which delivered the Autocross track at Menderes Kısıkköy, people in Izmir have now been introduced to autocross racing.
Round three of this year's 9 Eylül Cup, organised by AYOSK, will be held at the Menderes track on 25 October. The Kısıkköy Autocross event will begin with scrutineering between 10:00 and 11:00. The programme continues with practice and qualifying between 12:10 and 13:30, and the five-lap race will be run between 14:10 and 15:30. The third autocross race of the season in the 9 Eylül Cup will end with a prize-giving ceremony at 16:30.
AYOSK president Kuvvet Erim said the club is engaged in planned, supported and committed work, and that the 9 Eylül Cup is the result of it. "As a return on this work, I believe motorsport in our region will rise above its current level. Through the successful work we have carried out together with our Menderes mayor Bülent Soylu and Ege Asal Motor Spor president Mithat Diker, we aim to achieve strong growth in motorsport again. To motivate the drivers of our region and to support them, I invite motorsport enthusiasts to our race on Sunday 25 October."
Ahead of the Kısıkköy Autocross, the 9 Eylül Cup standings are led by Tolga Tezeken in Category 1, Şükrü Kızılkaya in Category 2, Kemal Şener in Category 3 and Yonca Güngör in the Ladies' class.
