Rain Challenges Drivers in Izmir

The second round of the 2017 Turkish Karting Championship was organised by İzmir Karting Kulübü on 27-28 May 2017 at İzmir Ülkü Park Race Track...With 21 competitors taking part across four categories, the first races were held on the opening day of the event, with the second and third races run on the second day. The competitors battled in the rain on the first day, before the sun came out on the second day and the intensifying fight lifted the excitement even higher.
In the Formula Mini category, Kerim Sulyak took first place and Ömer Asaf Kolot finished second, while Yiğit Arslan claimed third. In Formula Junior, Mert Dalkıran once again stepped onto the top step of the podium, with Zekai Özen taking second and Mert Yudulmaz third.
In the Formula Senior category, Gün Taşdelen once again took victory this season, with Mert Dalkıran second and Üstün Üstünkaya third. In Formula Master, last year's champion Mehmet Çınar won the category, while Volkan Düzgün finished second and Mehmet Yaman third on the podium.
The 2017 Turkish Karting Championship will continue with the third round, to be held at the Uşak Super Moto Track on 15-16 July.
