Turkish Driver Sezer Awarded Certificate of Appreciation

The awards ceremony for the Ukrainian Mini Rally Championship "Liman Cup" will be held on 16 December 2017 at the Odessa Port Building. At the evening, awards and plaques will be presented to the winning competitors and to guests of honour, among them Turkish driver Selami Sezer.
Viktor Shapovalov, chairman of the championship organising committee, said they had put in a great deal of effort to make this event, which will welcome participants from various countries, a memorable one, and that our rally driver would be presented with a certificate of appreciation for his contribution to sporting relations between Turkey and Ukraine.
Since 2005, Sezer has competed in rallies in Ukraine with friends and rally enthusiasts under the name Turkish Volunteer Rally Team, often relying solely on personal funds and helping to promote our country. Sezer said: "On these events, which we enter on a voluntary basis, reaching the finish has never been our measure of success, or rather, because of our limited means, it couldn't be.
In my view, wherever in the world they are, everyone should do something for their country if they can, and if they can't, they should at least take care not to present their country to foreigners through their own mistakes. This shared thinking has been our starting point. I see this award as our Ukrainian friends' appreciation of our efforts, and of course I am very happy. In the meantime, as a rally driver, I would like to thank TOSFED, and its president Serkan Yazıcı, very much for the invaluable efforts made to bring the 2018 World Rally Championship event to Marmaris."
