Toktaş Scores Points in Kocaeli

The 2016 Turkish Rally Championship continued on 11-12 June with Rally Kocaeli, organised by the Kocaeli Automobile Sports Club, known as KOSDER, with Ford Otosan as title sponsor.

The competitors left the start at 14:00 on Saturday 11 June at the 41 Burada Shopping Centre and headed to the Mehmet Kolaylı stage, going on to complete the first day with the İlker Elbir and Mehmet Sadık Efe Spectator stages.

Toktaş & Özşenler, competing with the backing of AES CNC, Nando Ayakkabı, Buron İnşaat&Mimarlık and RMK Makine, kept a controlled pace on the opening day, concentrating on the set-up of their Fiesta R2 for day two, and finished the first day fifth in their class.

Starting the second day with the aim of moving up the overall classification, the crew picked up speed in the first loop through changes to suspension settings and tyre choice. They got results from their attacks over the four stages run in the final three loops and finished the rally 12th overall.

After Kocaeli, the Toktaş - Özşenler crew will continue their Turkish Rally Championship campaign at the Yeşil Bursa Rally on 23-24 July.
