Hill Climb Action Continues at Kartepe

Round 3 of the 2019 Turkish Hill Climb Championship, organised by the Kocaeli Automobile Sports Club (KOSDER) with the support of Kartepe Municipality, was held on the Derbent – Kartepe course on Saturday 1 June 2019.
With 17 competitors entered and 15 taking the start, the event featured a fierce fight between cars in four separate categories. After three runs on the 5.30-kilometre tarmac course, Murat Can Şen took the win in Category 1 for GP Garage My Team in a Peugeot 106 GTI, while Hakan Solay was runner-up in a similar car. In Category 2, Yiğit Yalçın set the quickest time in an Opel Astra GSI, with Nizamettin Kaynak of BC Vision Motorsport second in a Fiat Palio and Alper Yıldız third in a Renault Clio II Sport to complete the podium.
In Category 3, the battle between the Renault Clio II Sports was won by last year's champion Refik Bozkurt, with Erdal Etyemez second and Tansel Tunca third. In Category 4, Emin Cem Yalın, competing for GP Garage My Team in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, claimed both the fastest time award and the class-winner's trophy. Uğur Soylu, also in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX for EVOFONE, took second, while Selim Bacıoğlu completed the podium in third in a Peugeot 207 Maxi.
The Turkish Hill Climb Championship continues with round 4, to be organised by the Ankara Automobile Sports Club (ANOK) in Çankaya on 29–30 June.
