Hill Climb Action Comes to Ankara

Held in memory of Ankara-born competitor Kemal Uludağ, who passed away in a tragic road accident in 1996, Round 3 of the 2018 Turkish Hill Climb Championship took place in Ankara on Sunday 12 August 2018.

Ankara drivers dominated the podium. In Category 1, Ramazan Ekiz took the class win in a Fiat Palio, with Özgür Akdağ second, also in a Fiat Palio, and Mertcan Uludağ third in a Skoda Felicia, competing in an event held in memory of an uncle.
Of the two competitors who started in Category 2, Özlem Uludağ, the event's only female driver, reached the finish in a Nissan Micra. In Category 3, Refik Bozkurt won in a Renault Clio Sport, Çağlar Ünüvar was second in an Opel Astra GSI and Cem Şit, who made his farewell appearance at this event, was third. Bozkurt, one of the second-generation competitors carrying a family name on the hill climb courses, not only took the class win but also set the fastest climb of the day with a time of 03:20.180.
In Category 4, Cem Yalın took the win for GP Garage My Team in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, Yavuzhan Cabbaroğlu was second in a Subaru Impreza WRX, and Tan Uydaş finished third in an Opel Kadett, also for GP Garage My Team.
