Simin Starts Season with a Win

The Turkish Rally Championship, a fixture for motorsport enthusiasts, got under way on Saturday 16 April with a start at 13:30 from Forum Bornova. In the Aegean Rally, the opening round of the championship, Simin Bıçakcıoğlu, winner of the Turkish Rally Championship Ladies' title for the past four years, took victory.

Competing for Neo Motorspor in the Turkish Rally Championship in a Mitsubishi EVO IX with Serkan Okan as co-driver, Bıçakcıoğlu took part with CPM Yazılım and Palamut Group as title sponsors and with support from Klass Magazin and A&S Transport. "The Aegean Rally is always a lot of fun. Interest from rally fans was high again this year, just as in previous years. While preparing for the Aegean Rally, the opening round of the championship, we only had winning on our minds. Carrying on from where we left off last season boosted our motivation too. This season I want to extend my winning streak to five years and write my name and my team's name in gold letters in the history of Turkish motorsport. Rally Marmaris is next, and after a short rest we will begin our preparations."
