Selami Sezer on the Start List at Rally Kuyalnik
Selami Sezer, who represents Turkey in Ukraine, will take the start at Rally Kuyalnik, which takes place in the city of Odessa on 20-21 August 2016.
Sezer said of the event:
"In these days when our people have come together even more strongly in unity and solidarity after the tragic events in Turkey on 15 July, the Ukrainian people have shown us enormous friendship, support and moral support right from the first days, both through social networks and face to face. The Turkey-Ukraine friendship, which we are experiencing at close quarters once again, will take shape in the truest sense of the word at this rally and will make it feel almost like a festival of democracy.
We are decorating our car with Turkish flags at this rally, and local and foreign competitors will brighten the event with red and white colours, wearing Turkish flags and Turkey T-shirts.
This rally, which will have a festival atmosphere with strong media attendance, drivers from countries such as Poland and Moldova, and even rally-loving senior Ukrainian state officials taking part, shows us that whatever the result, the Turkey-Ukraine friendship will be the winner.
I am also greatly honoured by the valuable support of TOSFED and its president Serkan Yazıcı, who made a very generous gesture by providing the racing tyres we needed for this rally.
Before I finish, I would like to thank all our media sponsors, you above all, for covering our news for years and helping us make our voice heard; the textile businessman Murat Gönültaş, Ahmet Özünal and Turgay Kılıç, who have mobilised their resources for the Turkish Volunteer Rally Team; and also my dear friend Viktor Şapovalov, who guides and supports us at every rally."
We wish our driver every success...
