Seconds Decide It at Şahintepe

Şahintepe Hill Climb, the third round of the AVIS 2022 Turkish Hill Climb Championship, was organised by Bursa Automobile Sports Club (BOSSEK) on 2-3 July with the support of ICRYPEX and Gemlik Municipality. Forty competitors took part across four categories, and a large crowd followed the action with great interest and excitement. After a closely fought event, the leading competitors received their awards at a ceremony held at Kumla Pier. Contested over three runs on a 7.20km course, Category 1 was won by Bursa-based Çağlayan Çelik, driving a Renault Clio Rally 5 for Toksport WRT. İlker Aktaş took second in an Opel Corsa GSI for Ülkü Motorsport, with Sevcan Sağıroğlu third in a Ford Fiesta R1. In Category 2, Castrol Ford Team Türkiye driver Burak Başlık took victory in a Ford Fiesta Rally4, with team-mate Taner Oruç second in a Ford Fiesta R2 and Cem Yudulmaz of Ülkü Motorsport third in a Ford Fiesta R2T. In Category 3, Murat Soyçopur of GP Garage My Team was fastest in a Renault Clio R3, with Ahmet Keskin of Neo Motorsport second in an Opel Corsa OPC and Refik Bozkurt third in a Renault Sport Clio for Sena Teknik. In Category 4, İsmet Toktaş won for Sena Teknik in a Skoda Fabia R5, also taking the fastest run award with a time of 04:14.72. GP Garage My Team driver Selim Bacıoğlu took second in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, with team-mate Sinan Soylu third in the same car. The team prize went to GP Garage My Team, who fielded four competitors.The fourth round of the AVIS 2022 Turkish Hill Climb Championship will be organised by Frigya Sports Club (FSK) on 13-14 August.
