Full Marks for Rally Bodrum
BOTAV Rally Bodrum, the opening round of the 2021 Demir Berberoğlu Season and the Şevki Gökerman Rally Cup, took place on 10-11 April with 81 cars and 162 competitors taking part. The successfully completed event drew great praise from the authorities and the participants.
Organised by Karya Otomobil Spor Kulübü in cooperation with the Bodrum Promotion Foundation (BOTAV) and Bodrum Municipality, with the support of Spor Toto, Castrol, Evofone, KFC, Oasis Bodrum, Salt Hayat, the Russia-Turkey Business Council, Azka Otel, Polat Galle Su, TED Bodrum College, Lujo Hotel, Pirelli, Toyscar Bodrum, Power App, Fora Araç Takip, Telsan and Era Outdoor, the rally ended in victory for the BC Vision Motorsport crew of Burak Çukurova-Vedat Bostancı.
The event began on the evening of 10 April with the start ceremony at Mindos Gate at 18:30. On Sunday 11 April, it concluded with the prize-giving ceremony on the finish podium at TED Bodrum College, after the Rasatçı Faik Fethanoğlu and Saynur Gelendost stages in the Yalıçiftlik-Kızılağaç area had each been run three times. 
Behind Çukurova-Bostancı, who competed in a Skoda Fabia R5 EVO, Ümit Can Özdemir-Batuhan Memişyazıcı of Castrol Ford Team Türkiye took second in a Ford Fiesta R5, while the crew finishing third overall was Uğur Soylu-Aras Dinçer of Evofone Rally Team. 
In the special classification for drivers contesting the national championship, the class wins were shared by Levent Gür-Oytun Albayrak in Category 1 in a Murat 131, Ali Türkkan-Onur Aslan of Castrol Ford Team Türkiye in Category 2, and Üstün Üstünkaya-Kerim Tar of Parkur Racing in Category 3 in a Ford Escort MKII. The prizes for the top three crews overall were presented by Bodrum District Governor Bekir Yılmaz, Muğla Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Ömer İlman and Bodrum Mayor Ahmet Aras.
In the Şevki Gökerman Rally Cup, İsmet Toktaş-Burak Başlık of BC Vision Motorsport took the win, also earning a prize of four Pirelli asphalt racing tyres. Ayhan Germirli-Mustafa Nazik finished second in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, while Emrah Ali Başo-Gürkal Menderes of Castrol Ford Team Türkiye claimed third in a Ford Fiesta ST.
Toktaş won Category 4 and Başo won Category 3, while Çağlayan Çelik-Efe Ersoy of Castrol Ford Team Türkiye took Category 2 in a Ford Fiesta R2 and Cem Doğrular-Erdal Oral won Category 1 in a Fiat Palio. These awards were presented by TOSFED President Eren Üçlertoprağı, together with Şevki Gökerman's wife Duygu Gökerman and daughters Zeynep Gökerman Yıldızhan and Ayşenur Gökerman.
