Rally Bodrum Wins First Award for a Rally
The ACE of MICE Awards for Congress, Meeting and Event Industries, which bring together all the players in the meetings, travel, congress and exhibition sectors, found their winners in Antalya. At the event, held on 7-9 November 2021, the best in the industry were rewarded in 23 separate categories.
At the event, which featured officials from more than 160 national and international corporate companies, Rally Bodrum, organised by Karya Otomobil Sporları Kulübü (KAROSK) on 10-11 April 2021, was among the nominees as the first motorsport entrant. Event and communications management was handled by Prems Art, and the rally, the first to be held on the Bodrum peninsula in 27 years, won the Jury Special Award in the 'Best Sports Event' category.
Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) President Eren Üçlertoprağı said that Rally Bodrum, which opened this year's season, was a highly successful event both sportingly and in terms of promotion after so many years, and that he was delighted to see motorsport back in Bodrum. He congratulated the Rally Bodrum team on the award. 
Prems Art Communications and Event Director Ayça Öztürk also said they were proud to bring the Ace of MICE award, one of Turkey's most prestigious event awards, to Bodrum.
Karya Otomobil Sporları Kulübü President Atıl Atılgan thanked the officials who worked on the Rally Bodrum organisation, non-governmental organisations, military and civil authorities and their officials, as well as Bodrum Mayor and Bodrum Promotion Foundation Chairman Ahmet Aras, for their support.
About Rally Bodrum
BOTAV Rally Bodrum, held in Bodrum, Muğla, and the opening round of the 2021 Şevki Gökerman Rally Cup, took place on 10-11 April with a record entry. Standing out as the national rally with the highest entry, with 81 cars and 162 competitors, Rally Bodrum also attracted attention for a number of firsts and for its success in sponsor management: Nurdan Akal became the first woman to serve as clerk of the course on a national-status rally; the rally cars were displayed at Oasis shopping centre for a week, alongside a Q&A event with competitors; Bodrum Mayor Ahmet Aras took part in the rally as a co-driver; TED Bodrum College hosted the most modern service park and rally centre of any event held in Turkey; traffic and road safety training was given to the Bodrum Disabled Health Foundation and TED Bodrum College students; before the ceremonial start, members of the press and influencers took a tour of Bodrum city in the passenger seats of the rally cars; the ceremonial start was held with an opening cocktail reception at the Myndos Gate, one of the most important locations in Bodrum's history; the rally received wide press coverage; awards in the shape of amphorae with local themes and wreaths of mandarin blossom were used; and gifts of local products were given to all competitors, mechanics, officials and marshals.
