Next Date in the Calendar: Rally Kocaeli

The fifth round of the 2015 Turkish Rally Championship, the Ford Otosan Kocaeli Rally, is being held for the 33rd time on 22-23 August. Organised under the main sponsorship of Ford Otosan, with the support of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, İzmit Municipality, Outlet Center İzmit, Toshiba, Avis, Setur and Wellborn Luxury Hotel, the Ford Otosan 33rd Kocaeli Rally will stage some big battles on 22-23 August.

SPECTATOR STAGE MOVES TO THE CITY CENTRE

On the first day of the rally, which starts from Outlet Center İzmit at 14:30 on Saturday 22 August, the crews will tackle the Transit (12.40 km), Tourneo Courier (9.10 km) and Ford Otosan (18.80 km) special stages, before finishing the day on the Kocaeli Metropolitan spectator stage in the centre of Kocaeli.

The spectator stage, which until now has been held in the car park of the Kocaeli İnterteks Exhibition Centre, is moving to the city centre this year. Perşembe Pazarı, opposite Bulvar Anıt Park, will host both the service park and the spectator stage. After the spectator stage, the crews will go through service and complete the first day at the Wellborn Luxury Hotel.

FIESTA RED&BLACK EVENT

In addition, on Friday 21 August, motorsport fans who wish to can enjoy a different experience in the passenger seat alongside Castrol Ford Team Türkiye drivers Murat Bostancı and Orhan Avcıoğlu at the Fiesta Red&Black Event, which will be held at the site of the spectator stage.

SIX STAGES ON THE SECOND DAY

The crews, who will take the wheel again at 09:00 on Sunday 23 August, face a tough challenge on the second day of the rally. After the Transit (12.40 km), Tourneo Courier (9.10 km) and Otosan (18.80 km) special stages, they will return to the Perşembe Pazarı service park to have their cars serviced and refuelled. They will then run these three stages once more before reaching the finish podium at Outlet Center İzmit at 17:30.

BOSTANCI AND CFTT IN THE LEAD

Ahead of this event, Castrol Ford Team Türkiye's Murat Bostancı leads the Turkish Rally Championship on 113 points, followed by team-mate Orhan Avcıoğlu on 64.8 points and Neo Motorspor's Yağız Avcı on 54 points. In the Teams' Championship, Castrol Ford Team Türkiye continues to lead, with Neo Motorspor second and Deltasport third.
