Petlas Leading the Way in Rallying

PETLAS, the domestically owned leader of Turkey's tyre industry, continues its support for sport and community development with its responsible brand identity, alongside the investments that have made their mark on the sector.

Round five of the 2020 FIA World Rally Championship, Rally Turkey, is being run under the patronage of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye from 18-20 September by the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED), with 130 competitors and 65 cars from 19 countries. It is also hosting the first two rounds of the Turkish Rally Championship. In this rally, four crews will take to the stages on PETLAS tyres, developed and produced in Turkey with domestic capital, domestic engineering and technology, and a domestic workforce. In the event, which will be run over the same stages as the World Championship round, Halim Ateş and Bahadır Gücenmez, driving the "0" course car responsible for road safety, will test PETLAS tyres on the stages. Emre Erciyas and Hakan Uçucu, Dağhan Ünlüdoğan and Aras Dinçer, and Buğra Can Kılıç and Ali Emre Yılmaz will be the crews looking for a place on the podium on PETLAS tyres.

In our competition tyre programme, which we run with our PETLAS Motorsport department in cooperation with TOSFED, our biggest dream is for a Turkish driver to become world champion on PETLAS, Turkey's tyre." Its tyres were also used at the 2019 FIA World Rally Championship Rally Turkey, on the course cars that run ahead of the competitors to ensure stage safety.
