Ömer Asaf Moves Up to Second in Standings

Representing Turkey in this year's Belgian Rotax Max Challenge as a Turkish National Team driver with the support of TOSFED, 12-year-old national driver Ömer Asaf Kolot travelled to the SPA Francorchamps karting circuit in Belgium on 21-23 September for the fourth round of the series.
Competing in the Mini Max category, Ömer Asaf set the third-fastest time in qualifying to earn a place on the third grid slot for the first race. One of the three races scheduled for Sunday was cancelled after heavy rain made track conditions too difficult. After the two races that were run, Turkey's representative finished level on points with the driver in third and ended the weekend fourth on countback. With the valuable points collected in this round, Kolot raised his tally to 97, edged ahead of his rivals and moved up one place in the championship standings to second.
The fifth and final round of the Belgian Rotax Max Challenge will be held at the Genk circuit on 20-21 October.
