Murat and Buğra Chasing Points in Portugal

Castrol Ford Team Türkiye, which ended the 2017 season as European Rally Team Champions, continues its fight this year in the WRC – World Rally Championship, regarded as one of the most important motorsport competitions in the world.
At Rally Portugal, the sixth round of the championship, which runs from 17-20 May, Castrol Ford Team Türkiye will field two crews. Murat Bostancı and Onur Vatansever will compete in the WRC2 category, where competition is at its highest level, in a 4×4 Fiesta R5 powered by the award-winning EcoBoost engine. As well as helping to secure last year's European Team title, Murat Bostancı also won the European Rally Cup, and he aims to bring the experience he previously gained in Junior WRC to Rally Portugal.
Buğra Banaz and Burak Erdener, who successfully finished Rally Corsica, will again compete in the Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC) this season, in a 4×2 Fiesta R2T featuring the EcoBoost petrol engine technology that Ford has seen named International Engine of the Year for the past six years. Banaz opened the JWRC season at Rally Corsica on 5-8 April, finishing the challenging rally, famous for its corners, in eighth place among 14 drivers to make a good start to the season.
Serdar Bostancı: "We will proudly fly the Turkish flag at Rally Portugal"
Team Director Serdar Bostancı made the following assessment ahead of Rally Portugal: "As Castrol Ford Team Türkiye, we are proud to be competing in the World Rally Championship from the 2018 season, having raised our target on the back of the experience we gained from last year's European Team title. Our road is long and not easy, but, as we have done consistently for 20 years, we believe that with good planning a rally driver from Turkey can challenge for the top positions in the World Rally Championship within five years, and all of our plans are now geared towards making that happen. In the WRC, after Rally Corsica in France, we now continue our fight in Porto. As Castrol Ford Team Türkiye, we sincerely believe we will return from Portugal with success. As always, we will proudly fly the Turkish flag in Portugal."
