Özhaseki Signs Off in Körfez

The fourth and final round of the Apex Masters Turkish Drift Championship, organised by Drift Otomobil Sporları Kulübü, took place at the TOSFED Izmit Körfez Circuit.
Held with PWR Balata as title sponsor and backed by Spor Toto, İnci Akü, Motul and Power FM, the event made use of the section of the circuit known as the sea chicane, unusually, producing a fast-flowing round in which car control was even more to the fore. The season finale featured the powerful cars of Turkish and international drivers in smoky, door-to-door battles, and was judged by Formula Drift driver Faruk Kugay and FIA Drift judge David Kalas.
In qualifying on Saturday 10 November, Ege Bilaloğlu topped the order with 93 points, ahead of Levent Enön in second and Volkan Arısoy in third. On Sunday 11 November, after the practice runs, the meet-the-drivers session and paddock visit drew great interest, and the spectators then followed the smoky door-to-door battles with excitement… With around 3,500 spectators in attendance, the drivers' performances in the head-to-head battles delivered an adrenaline-filled visual feast for those watching.
In the final battle between DM Works D'Team's experienced driver Kemal Özhaseki and young driver Levent Enön, it was Özhaseki in his BMW E36 M3 who lifted the winner's trophy. Enön took second in his Mercedes W123, while Volkan Arısoy claimed third place in the season finale in his BMW E36 325.
Lucky spectators shared the excitement from the passenger seats of the drift cars, and at the end of the event the top finishers received their awards from TOSFED Deputy President Eren Üçlertoprağı.
Following this round, Kemal Özhaseki has mathematically secured the championship title. The standings for the 2018 Turkish Drift Championship will become official once announced by the TOSFED Sporting Commission.
