Körfez Set to Echo to the Sound of Tyres

Round three of the 2016 Turkish Drifting Championship, Apex Masters, is being organised by Drift Otomobil Sporları Kulübü with PWR Balata as sponsor, and takes place at the İzmit Körfez Race Track on Sunday 28 August.

The drift drivers will practise on Saturday 27 August, and from 11:00 on Sunday 28 August they will give the motorsport fans filling the circuit hours full of adrenaline, with qualifying followed by head-to-head battles.

The cars competing in drifting, which gained national status this season, are as mechanically advanced as they are visually striking. With no limit on engine modifications in drifting, the average power of the cars has passed 500 HP. In the series, the rumble of American V8s mixes with the sound of inline six-cylinder turbo engines…

Ahead of a fierce fight between 25 competitors, the championship lead is held by Kemal Özhaseki of JDM Works D’Team. Crowd favourite Kemal Soylu of Alias Racing is following him, while third place belongs to this season's breakthrough name, Timur Pomak of MTG Motorsport.
