Countdown Begins for Rally Kocaeli

The sixth round of the 2019 Turkish Rally Championship, which also awards points to the Turkish Historic Rally Championship and the Zafer Vatansever Rally Cup, the Ford Otosan 37th Rally Kocaeli will take place with 63 cars and 126 competitors, including eight cars from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
The demanding rally is being organised on 11-13 October by the Kocaeli Automobile Sports Club (KOSDER) with Ford Otosan as title sponsor, and with the support of the Kocaeli Governorship, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, İzmit Municipality, 41 Burda Shopping Centre, Shell, Avis, Ramada Plaza İzmit, Auto Club, Fora Vehicle Tracking Systems and Power FM.
The rally begins on Friday 11 October with the recce between 08:00 and 13:00, while scrutineering will take place the same day between 14:00 and 17:00 at the Interteks International Fair Centre.
After the start ceremony at the 41 Burda Shopping Centre at 11:30 on Saturday 12 October, the crews will tackle the Ford Otosan (18.22 km), Transit (16.50 km), Courier (8.28 km) and Custom (6.63 km) stages, before completing the first day from 16:00 with the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality spectator stage in the car park of the Kocaeli International Fair Centre. The second day of the rally, Sunday 13 October, starts at 10:00 from Ramada Plaza İzmit, which is hosting the event as rally headquarters. On the final day the crews will run the Otosan, Transit and Courier stages once more, before fighting for extra points in the overall classification and in their classes on the Custom-2 bonus stage. With a big fight expected in both the overall classification and the classes on the final gravel rally of the season, the crews will cover a total of 292.44 kilometres over the two days, of which 100.46 kilometres are special stages. The Ford Otosan 37th Rally Kocaeli will conclude on Sunday at 15:00 with the finish ceremony and prize-giving at the 41 Burda Shopping Centre.
