Karts Burst into Life at Tuzla

The 2018 Turkish Karting Championship got under way with Round 1, organised by Tuzla Motorsporları Kulübü at Tuzla Karting Park on 7-8 April.
With 24 competitors racing across the Mini, Formula Junior, Formula Senior and Formula Master classes, the event saw fierce competition in every category.
In the Mini class, national team driver Ömer Asaf Kolot took the win with 57 points, while Alp Hasan Aksoy was second with 50 points and Zekai Hakkı Dorum third with 45 points.
In Formula Junior, there was a big fight between Zekai Özen and Ali Ehad Türker. A rules infringement in the second race proved costly for Ehad Türker, and Zekai Özen took the win with 57 points. Ehad Türker was second with 50 points, while Yiğit Arslan claimed third. 
In the Formula Senior class, the battle was between Gün Taşdelen and Mert Dalkıran. Gün Taşdelen won all three races to finish the day on top with 60 points, while Mert Dalkıran was second with 51 points. Fahrettin Çak took third with 43 points.
In Formula Master, the veterans' class, the winner of the day was Emre Gürkan, who finished first in all three races. Emre Gürkan, on 60 points, was followed by Volkan Düzgün in second with 47 points and Mehmet Çınar in third with 41 points.
The second round of the 2018 Turkish Karting Championship will take place on 28-29 April at Nilüfer Karting Circuit in Bursa.
