The newly formed Tuzla Motorsporları Kulübü (TMK) is making a fast start to the season, organising the 2018 Local Winter Cup in memory of karting and motorsport competitor Berat Türker, who we lost last year... Karting Winter Cup at Tuzla

The cup will be run over two rounds, with the first race on Sunday 18 February 2018 and the second on Sunday 11 March at the Istanbul Tuzla Karting Circuit. The races will take place on the 900-metre track inside Tuzla Şelale Park, which hosted rounds of the Turkish Championship in 2017, and can be watched free of charge.

Karting Winter Cup at Tuzla Competitors will battle in the Mini, Junior, Senior, Master and DD2 classes. After practice and qualifying, there will be two semi-final races followed by the final. The points scored in the semi-finals and final will be added together to decide the day's classification. Qualifying will begin at 10.00, with racing starting at 11.20.

Berat Türker, who left us at a young age, began a motorsport career in karting. After racing for a long time in the Turkish Karting Championship, the Rotax Max Challenge Türkiye and the Istanbul Karting Endurance Championship, Türker continued a karting career in Italy and England. After returning to Turkey, Türker finished second in the Clio Cup and most recently reached the final of the 'TOSFED Yıldızını Arıyor' (TOSFED Is Searching for a Star) programme by making the top 40.
