Hitit Land Gets Its First Taste of Rally

The 42nd Hitit Rally, the seventh and final round of the TOSFED Rally Cup, was organised by the Ankara Automobile Sports Club ANOK with the support of Çorum Municipality on 19-20 September in the Hittite heartland of Çorum. The event began with the start from the Fairground on the evening of Saturday 19 September, followed by a spectator special stage in the same area, and over both days the crews battled it out on the Kırkdilim and Çatak stages.

The rally was contested across 4 separate categories, based on the cars' technical specifications and engine capacities. The class winners were Emrah Ali Başo-Semih Erkal in a Ford Fiesta R1 in Category 1, Alptekin Işıkalp-Selin Özgür in a Citroen C2 in Category 2, Hakan Ertarman-Yunus Emre Bol in a Renault Clio Ragnotti in Category 3, and Yüksel Özgür-Erhan Arıkan in a Citroen C2 in Category 4.

17 crews started the rally and 9 made it to the finish. It concluded on Sunday 20 September at the finish podium set up in front of Çorum Municipality, where the top finishers in each category received their awards at a ceremony. The prizes were presented by Çorum Mayor Muzaffer Külcü, Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Haşim Eğer and ANOK President Metin Ertuğrul.
