Countdown Begins for Rally Phrygia

Taking place in the Phrygian Valley, home to the Phrygians who built a civilisation in the region some 3000 years ago, the opening rally of the season is named Rally Phrygia this year and runs from 3-6 May. The event, part of the FIA European Rally Trophy, Turkish Rally Championship, Turkish Historic Rally Championship and Ali Sipahi Rally Cup, is organised by the Eskişehir Otomobil Sporları Kulübü, known as ESOK, with the support of KYK, Mantothrem, Banaz Otomotiv, Shell, Espark, Toktaş Otomotiv Hankook, Spor Toto, RedBull.com and Power FM.

Twenty-four crews, three of them from Bulgaria, have registered in the ERT classification, while entries for the national championship and the Ali Sipahi Cup close at 17:00 on the evening of Monday 30 April. With around 60 crews in total expected on the startline, the rally begins with the recce on Thursday 3 May. Rally Phrygia will officially get under way on Friday 4 May at 18:30 with the start ceremony in front of Espark AVM, and consists of 8 special stages with a total length of 141 km over a route of 433.34 km.
On Saturday 5 May, the crews will leave the Sazova service park from 10:00, tackling the 23.32 km Mantotherm stage and the 14.98 km Banaz stage twice each, before finishing the first day back at service from 15:32.
On the morning of Sunday 6 May, the crews will again start the day from the Sazova service park from 10:00, covering the 18.12 km Espark stage and the 14.45 km Midas stage twice each, before the rally concludes from 16:30 with the finish ceremony and prize-giving in front of Espark AVM.
