Ümitcan Wins Fiesta Rally Cup
The fourth round of the Turkish Rally Championship, one of the country's most prestigious sporting events, was held in Bursa from 3-5 August. The symbolic start of the 43rd running of the Yeşil Bursa Rally, which featured 107.75 kilometres of special stages in the Orhaneli - Keles region and a total distance of 467.03 km, took place in front of the Nilüfer Municipality Halk Evi.
As has been the case throughout the season, the all-asphalt Yeşil Bursa Rally once again provided great excitement, with a fierce fight that went down to the final stage. Ford Motorsport Türkiye drivers competed in four-wheel-drive Fiesta R5s and two-wheel-drive R2T, R2 and ST cars, and completed the rally very successfully despite the extra pressure created by the hot weather.
After the Yeşil Bursa Rally, Ford Motorsport Türkiye's lead continues in the Turkish Rally Championship in the drivers', teams' and two-wheel-drive categories.
Ford Motorsport Türkiye crews dominated the rally!
Yağız Avcı, who first began competing under the Ford Motorsport Türkiye banner in 2004, once again had Onur Vatansever's support in the co-driver's seat in the Fiesta R5, as in the first two rallies of the season. In the four-wheel-drive category, where competition is at its highest level, Avcı kept a cool head until the very end to take the top step of the podium, moving one step closer to a sixth Turkish Rally Championship title.
The crew of Deniz Fahri – Bahadır Gücenmez, also competing in a four-wheel-drive Fiesta R5, finished the rally in third place. Deniz Fahri, who has fought consistently since the start of the season, has also strengthened third place in the championship standings after the first four rallies of the season.
14 crews competed in the Fiesta Rally Cup
The Fiesta Rally Cup, a two-wheel-drive series run alongside the Turkish Rally Championship calendar, which returned last year under the Ford Motorsport Türkiye banner after a long break, also produced intense competition.
At the Yeşil Bursa Rally, which saw a fierce battle between 14 Fiesta cars, the crew of Ümit Can Özdemir–Batuhan Memişyazıcı finished first in the Fiesta Rally Cup in a Fiesta R2T, while the Bulgarian crew Georgi Geradzhiev–Georgi Gadzhev took second in a Fiesta R2, and İsmet Toktaş–Sedat Bostancı took third in a Fiesta R2T. In the ST class, Semih Erkal-Yasin Tomurcuk from Bursa were the class winners.

Ford MotorSport Türkiye Team Director Serdar Bostancı said in his assessment: "In the demanding Yeşil Bursa Rally, where we took part with a total of 16 crews, we are delighted that all of our crews reached the finish and that six of our crews finished in the top 10. It is also very valuable for us that we took the win with Yağız Avcı and third place with Deniz Fahri in the top three of the overall classification. Next up is Rally Turkey, which we have been eagerly awaiting since the start of the season, and which will be held in Marmaris from 13-16 September as the 10th round of the World Rally Championship. I believe this important sporting event, which is returning to our country after an eight-year break, will attract great interest, especially from car and rally enthusiasts."
