Ertarman Makes Fast Start to Renç Koçibey Cup

The Renç Koçibey Rally Cup, which in 2017 consists of six events in total – five of them rounds of the Turkish Rally Championship and one the Hitit Rally in Çorum – got under way with the Saygılı Rulman 27th Aegean Rally in Izmir on 22-23 April.The opening event of the season drew 29 cars and 58 competitors from Istanbul, Izmir, Antalya, Bursa and Kocaeli, with 23 cars reaching the finish. On the first day the crews tackled only the Şehit Fethi Sekin spectator stage at the Ülküpark circuit, before facing six special stages on the second day.
In the opening round of the cup, Hakan Ertarman-Yunus Emre Bol, entered from Bursa in a Renault Clio Ragnotti, finished first overall and won Category 2. Second overall and Category 1 winners were Dinçer Akgün-Özgün Çakar from Izmir in a Peugeot 106 GTI. Another Izmir crew, Erkan Yanıkoğlu-Bora Yılmaz in a Renault Clio Sport, completed the podium in third, while the special "youngest crew" award went to Mert Gür-Ege Can Ünlü, who competed in a Fiat Palio.
