Turkish Crews Return from Bulgaria with Points

Turkish competitors left the second round of the 2021 FIA European Rally Trophy, Rally Bulgaria, held on 14-16 May, with strong results.
In a rally contested by a total of 36 crews from Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Hungary and Turkey, Uğur Soylu-Aras Dinçer, competing for Evofone Rally Team in a Skoda Fabia R5, took second place in the FIA ERT classification.
In the demanding two-day rally, Ali Türkkan-Onur Vatansever, competing for Castrol Ford Team Türkiye in a Ford Fiesta Rally4, finished fourth in the ERT and won the junior driver classification. Red Bull athlete Türkkan claimed valuable points by winning the ERT junior classification for the second time, following the Evofone ESOK Rally.
The Mustafa Çakal-Özgür Akdağ crew, competing for GP Garage My Team with Ankutsan support in a Hyundai i20 R5, climbed onto the finish podium after taking fifth in the ERT, while their team-mates Erkan Güral-Burak Koçoğlu were unable to complete the rally because of a mechanical problem on the first day.
Another Turkish crew, Buğra Can Kılıç-Ali Emre Yılmaz of Evofone Rally Team, reached the finish in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, placing 13th in the ERT classification.
